Officer, supect hurt in Pa. police cruiser crash


YORK, Pa. (AP) — A police officer and a suspect are hospitalized following a crash involving two commercial trucks in central Pennsylvania.

State police say the cruiser being driven by a Northern York County Regional Police officer collided with the rear of a box truck early today on Interstate 83 in Manchester Township. The cruiser was then struck by a second truck.

Officials say the officer was transported by ambulance to York Hospital and the suspect was airlifted from the scene. Their conditions and names were not immediately available.

Southbound lanes of Interstate 83 remain closed.
