Elizabeth Allison became the bride of Ryland Mathews during an 11 a.m. ceremony Jan. 11 at Lighthouse Beach in Sanibel Island.

Laura Walker performed the ceremony for the daughter of Mindy and Doug Johnson of Lordstown and the son of Jeff and Bonnie Mathews of Kinsman.

A reception took place Jan. 28 at McMenamy’s Banquet Center in Niles.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the newlyweds live in Austintown.

The bride earned an associate degree in physical therapy assisting from Kent State University. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and she is pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Findlay.

Mrs. Mathews is employed as a physical therapy assistant for TuDor Therapy Centers in Columbiana.

The groom graduated from Kent State with a bachelor’s degree in English. He is a retail sales representative for Verizon Wireless in Niles.

The bride’s white strapless mermaid-style gown was adorned with diamond-and-pearl accents and featured a sweetheart neckline and a lace-up back.
