News from Boardman
Marty Devore, 120 average, rolled his highest game/series with 211-536 in Knights of the Round Table at Boardman on March 28. Round Table secretary Ed Sekula noted that Devore is a first-year newcomer to the league.
Strykers won Round Table’s final 3rd and Beer Frame will be the wild-card when the roll-offs start on Monday (18th).
On a tragic note, Sekula reported that league member Darla Schumacher was killed in an automobile accident recently.
“She was the highest female — as far as average and games and sets — for many years,” Sekula said of Schumacher, who was killed on her way home from work prior to the league’s most recent session on April 11.
Sekula said that Round Table bowlers were unaware of Schumacher’s accident until the next day.
And, condolences to the family of former East Sider Phil Cannatti, who passed away at 85. He was a bowler at McGuffey Lanes as was his son, Phil. Jr.
