Season to date: After last week’s Samsung Mobile 500 where he finished 30th, Blaney moved up one spot, to 33rd place, in the Sprint Cup standings with 87 points. He trails No. 32 Casey Mears by just six points.

This weekend: Saturday, he qualified 35th for today’s Aaron’s 499 race at Talladega Motor Speedway with a qualifying speed of 175.806 mph.

TV/radio: FOX will televise the race beginning at 1 p.m. WBBG-FM 106.1 also will broadcast the NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
