Lowellville 14, Jackson-Milton 3

STRUTHERS

Senior Tony Schialdone had nine strikeouts and three walks in a five-inning, two-hitter for Lowellville (6-1, 6-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Senior Mike Petronek had three singles for six RBIs, Schialdone also knocked in four runs and Anthony Alfano tripled for the Rockets.

Boardman 12, Springfield 11

STRUTHERS

Mark Caluatti hit a three-run double as the Spartans won the four-hour, 10-inning game. Nico DiIanni had a two-run triple and a 10th-inning double. Danny Popio’s four hits included a double.

Newton Falls 10, Campbell 0

NEWTON FALLS

Abbie Harrah struck out 11 while throwing a one-hitter and she had two hits and three RBIs for the Tigers (2-5). Makayla Crouser had two hits and Tori Workman knocked in two runs for Newton Falls.

West Branch 2, Southeast 1

BELOIT

Winning pitcher Emily Weber (7-2) and losing pitcher Kayla Williams (4-1) combined to allow just seven hits.

MINERAL RIDGE

Meghan Garland’s single to right field scored Elyssa Simko with the winning run in the bottom of the 14th inning. Garland’s hit came with the bases loaded and no out. She and Simko, a junior, were batterymates. Freshman McKenzie Garland and sophomore Allissa Sparks finished with two hits apiece for the Rams (3-4). Corynn Ozenghar doubled for Mooney (5-3). Meghan Garland had 13 strikeouts and Mooney’s Angela Penza had eight strikeouts.
