DOCTORS

To begin residency

Dr. Rabiah Rafique, daughter of Mohammad and Rehana Rafique, recently graduated from American University of Antigua College of Medicine.

A graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Dr. Rafique, earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in psychology at Youngstown State University. She will start her residency July 1 in pathology at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center, Youngstown.

STATE PATROL

Promoted to sergeant

Troy J. Homrighausen of Canfield has been promoted to the rank of sergeant by Col. John Born, superintendent, Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Homrighausen will transfer from his current assignment at the Hiram Post to serve as an assistant post commander at the Lisbon Post.

Homrighausen began his patrol career in October 1998 and earned his commission in April 1999, where he was assigned to the former Akron Post. He transferred to the Canfield Post in 2001, was the patrol’s operations capital trooper in 2003, was the patrol’s academy training operations trooper in 2004, and went to the Hiram Post in 2006.

Homrighausen and his wife, Stephanie, have four children: Christopher, 8, Conner, 7, and twin daughters, Kayla, and Erin, 5.
