Dog barking case
LISBON
Atty. Douglas King will represent The Humane Society of Columbiana County, 1825 S. Lincoln Ave., Perry Township, against a minor misdemeanor charge for allowing dogs at its headquarters to bark.
The next hearing will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Both Columbiana County Municipal Court Judges Mark Frost and Judge Carol Ann Robb excused themselves from hearing the case. Jenny Pike, humane society president, is the wife of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Ashley Pike.
Louise Grande, who lives north of the society, has filed a noise complaint with township police. She said she and her husband, who are both in their 70s, are tired of the barking. The complaint could bring up to a $150 fine. Atty. King said in court filings that the charge about barking animals is vague.
