Canfield track teams top Struthers, Hubbard

The Canfield High School girls track team defeated Struthers 117-37 and Hubbard 117-10 April 5 during a triangular meet at Canfield.

Marla Marucci, Kaylee Kilbert, Jen Love and Jillian Smith won the 4X800 relay with a time of 10:32.1. Sara Martinko took first in the 100 hurdles with 17.7. In the 100-meter dash, Emily Gleichert took first with a time of 13.2.

Nicole Lamagna, Devin Foley, Katie Richter and Gleichert made up the winning 4X200 relay team with a time of 1:15.8. Love earned another first place in the 1600 run with a time of 5:55.1.

In the 4X100 relay, Lamagna, Stephanie Carrocce, Richter and Gleichert won in 52.5. Foley won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.9. Megan Martinko won the 300 hurdles in 52.2.

In the 800 run, Smith took first with a time of 2:27.8. Foley won the 200-meter dash in 27.8. The 4X400 relay team of Nicole Tiberio, Foley, Marucci and Smith won in 4:26.0.

In shot put, Maggie Bresnahan won with a throw of 35-11. She won the discus with a toss of 102-7. Kayla Barko won the long jump with 13-6 and Leanna Hartsough won the high jump with 5-1.

The boys team defeated Struthers 70-56 and topped Hubbard 70-38.

Jeremy Hammond, Nick Tocicki, Ben Gleichert and Jon Hutnyan made up the winning 4X800 relay team. They took first with 9:03.6.

Tyler Mettille won the 110 hurdles with 15.4. In the 100-meter dash, J. Brooks won in 11.1.

Treavor English, Rayshawn Clark, Bryan Sfara and Steven Hamilton made up the first place 4X200 relay team and won in 1:38.

Hutnyan won the 1600 run in 4:52.6.

Keith Auman, J. Brown, Tommy Kimbrough and Brooks won the 4X100 relay in 45.4. Mike Tobey won the 400-meter dash in 54.4. Mettille won the 300 hurdles in 44.2.

Hutnyan won the 800 run with a time of 2:07.6 and Brooks was the 200-meter dash in 22.8. Rollin Bresson won the 3200 run in 11:01.8. English, Gleichert, Fidel Syrianoudis, and Hamilton took first in the 4X400 relay with 3:40.5.

Keary Iarussi won the shot put after throwing 46-11 and also won the discus with a throw of 150-7. Mettille won the long jump with a leap of 5-5 and Arnaldo Morales took first in the high jump with 6-0.
