Two Youngstown men face federal indictments

Federal grand juries returned indictments against two Youngstown men, charging one with a drug offense and the other with theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee.

Steven N. Cole, 32, is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine and with being a felon in possession of firearms.

The investigation that led to the indictment was conducted by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Youngstown office.

In a separate indictment, Eric J. Pendland, 29, is charged with theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee.

The indictment charges that in August 2007, Pendland stole two pistols from P&A Super Pawn Shop in Niles.

The investigation was conducted by Youngstown police and the Youngstown office of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
