Tree planting set Saturday morning on city's South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — The Boulevard Park Blockwatch will plant trees at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The tree planting is a continuation of the group’s beautification project that began last year.

The group has worked in collaboration with Treez Please who donated the trees, city forester David Sturtz, who helped get the space prepared, as well as support from Jason Whitehead, director of the city’s parks and recreation department and Councilman John R. Swierz, D-7th.

If you would like to help plant trees, meet this morning at at the corner of Rush and Midlothian boulevards.

The tree-planting is part of Wean Foundation's Neighborhood Success Grant Program.
