Girard man charged with giving morphine to teens
LIBERTY
Police charged Jeffrey Gershmen of James Lane, Girard, with endangering children and corruption with drugs after an incident around 9:10 p.m. Monday on James Lane, where they were called about an assault among neighbors.
While there, an individual spoke to police about his daughter and her friend, 15- and 16-year-olds, who said they were given a drug by Gershmen because they had headaches. Gershmen said the pills were 30-milligram tablets of morphine. He is the stepfather of one of the girls; both were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Gershmen appeared this week in Girard Municipal Court; a preliminary hearing will be Wednesday
