Eighteen Austintown Fitch students had the opportunity to explore career opportunities as part of the Mentoring Day activities of the Rotary Club of Austintown, in cooperation with the Fitch Interact Club.

The students spent the morning with their hosts learning about the various aspects of the profession, then both students and sponsors joined the Rotary Club for lunch at the Saxon Club.

Many favorable comments came from the guests and some interesting connections were made that could be useful in the future.

Those students participating were Maria Bishop (shadowed veterinarian Talia Musolino from the Youngstown Humane Society), Christine Holmes (teacher Cathy Allen, Frank Ohl School), Rachael Woods (teacher, Christine Palmer, Austintown Middle School), Rebecca Woods (teacher Amy Iacofano, Watson Elementary School), Amanda Choma (accountant Melissa Crowley, Hill Barth & King), Olivia Miller (lawyer Louis Schiavoni), Rebecca Leonard and Kamisha Parker (criminologists Det. Dan Kosco and Det. Doug Sharshu, Austintown PD), Latrice Nelson and Summer Tarr (graphic designers Brian Dickens and Donna Holmes, Yo. PrePress), Spencer Skolnick (fashion merchandiser Katie Sprague, Dillard’s), Kayleigh and Jaclynn Choma (engineering, YSU Dr. Ram Kasaganti and Engineering Dept.), Shilo Niehorster and Sierra DuBois (actress Carol Weakland), Summer Hill (doctor, Dr.Jim Shina), Amanda Rouan (pediatrics, Keith Campanelli, Austintown Pediatric Center), Kirsty Thurston (environmental science, Dan Kuzma, YSU).
