Playhouse’s schedule to include ‘Mockingbird’

The Youngstown Playhouse’s 2011-12 season will include classics such as “Romeo and Juliet” and “To Kill a Mockingbird,” plus the musicals “Gypsy” and “Scrooge, the Musical.”

The season, which was revealed this week, also includes the unusual solve-it-yourself musical “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” in which audiences choose the ending. A second special event, “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black,” is scheduled for February.

Entering its second season, the Griffith-Adler Series in the intimate Moyer Room will continue to tackle difficult or controversial themes.

Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays.

Season tickets will be sold at the discount rate of $70 for adults and $50 for seniors until Sunday. Call 330-788-8739 for reservations. Here is the schedule:
