Michelle Obama in Ohio later today to show support for military

COLUMBUS (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama will be in Ohio as part of a new effort to boost support for U.S. service members and their families.

The White House says she’s coming to Columbus late this afternoon afternoon with Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and the vice president’s wife, Jill Biden. They’re scheduled to appear at a Sears shipping facility to highlight businesses that make it easier for employees to transfer jobs when their soldier spouses are transferred.

The White House wives were part of a lavish baby shower for pregnant military mothers in North Carolina on Wednesday and later toured a Texas Army medical center treating severely wounded troops.

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden are advocates for military families. The Bidens’ son Beau served in Iraq with an Army National Guard unit.
