County declares Fair Housing Month, announces 2 collections

AUSTINTOWN

Mahoning County commissioners have adopted a resolution declaring April Fair Housing Month.

Anne Deascentis, fair housing coordinator of the Office of Management and Budget, told commissioners at their meeting Thursday that the resolution aims to call attention to the importance of fair housing, as well as ways to detect discrimination.

The county Green Team announced announced an appliance recycling drive April 23 and a clothing and household-items drive May 7.
