American Meatout will mark Earth Day

The Great American Meatout will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. May 1 at Evergreen Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7668 Glenwood Ave., in celebration of Earth Day 2011.

The public is asked to help relieve environmental pollution and the suffering of people and animals by serving more meatless meals. A vegan meal will be included in the event.

The featured speaker will be Dr. James D. Krystosik, doctor of natural medicine. He has a weekly radio show on 1440 AM, Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Make reservations by April 26 at 330-502-9355. Make checks payable to Evergreen SDA Church and send to Sandy Hrabowy, 2600 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Hubbard, OH 44425. Day care will be provided, as will free blood pressure screening. Door prizes will also be given out.
