Mike Lopuchovsky’s three-run homer in the first inning sent the Eagles to their second win. Lopuchovsky and Zach Merrell each had two hits. One of Merrell’s was a double. Also for the Eagles (2-4), Tyler Duez doubled.

Mooney 5, Akron SVSM 1

STRUTHERS

Frank Rondinelli tripled, Boo Vazquez and Brendan Sklenar both went 2-for-2 and Ryan Gallagher had a 12-strikeout three-hitter for Mooney (5-0).

SOFTBALL

Champion 7, Salem 2

CHAMPION

Sophomore Kayla Hunt threw nine strikeouts and issued three walks in a two-hitter for the Golden Flashes (7-0) in a 4 1/2-inning game ended by rain. Sophomore Mackenzie Kiser had a two-run home run and sophomore Emilee Hohvart had two hits and three RBIs for Champion. T. Woods and K. McDevitt singled for Salem.
