Two people accused in Boardman purse thefts

Police arrested two people in connection with a string of purse thefts from local stores.

Gertrude P. Gastaldo, 48, of Struthers, was charged with three counts of felony theft, and Frank J. Karcher III, 45, of Struthers, was charged with three counts of felony complicity to theft, according to reports. Police said the two were arrested Friday afternoon.

Police said they believe the duo are responsible for a theft and attempted theft of purses at Aldi on South Avenue and Marc’s on Tiffany Boulevard that occurred last week.
