Winning pitcher Lindsay Swipas (5-0) struck out 11 batters, walked none and hit a three-run homer. Also for the Golden Flashes (6-0, 2-0 All-American Conference Blue Tier), Sierra Blackson doubled. For the Tigers (1-4, 0-1), Bailey Shade and Lauren Walker had singles. Shade (1-3) struck out 10 batters and walked two.

Poland 12, Hubbard 0

HUBBARD

Erin Gabriel (4-0) tossed a no-hitter and struck out 20 for the Bulldogs (5-0). Adrienna Sikora’s three hits included a three-run homer. Also with three hits were Taylor Miokovic and Kalie Benson. Jenna Modic’s two hits included a double. The Eagles are 2-1.

Niles 11, Struthers 3

STRUTHERS

Rachel Adams had three hits, including a solo homer, and scored three runs to lead Niles, while Lindsey Dodgen and Olivie Devorich each had two hits and two runs and Hope Collen hit a two-run homer. Rachel Affagato had two doubles and scored a run and Sami Basista had two hits for Struthers.

Ursuline 5, Austintown Fitch 2

Junior Bri Curd had a two-run triple in the seventh inning, Macey Gunther also had an RBI in the seventh and Dana Creatore had a single for Ursuline (5-2). Curd also had an RBI single in the third for the Irish. Senior Carly Ortz doubled and singled for Fitch (3-1), while Alana Callahan had a double and RBI. Megan Carney also knocked in a run for the Falcons. Fitch’s Amanda Callahan had 10 strikeouts and five walks, while Ursuline’s Nicholette Maderitz had eight strikeouts and no walks.

Cardinal Mooney 11, St. Thomas Aquinas 0

LOUISVILLE

Katrina Larson’s three hits included two doubles and drove in four runs for the Cardinals (3-2). Jamie Clausen had three hits including a double. Also hitting doubles were Simone Zeoli and Angela Penza. Clausen earned the mound win, striking our four and walking none.

LOWELLVILLE

Zania Sahli, Caitlyn Carney and Maddie Griffiths each had three hits for the Bluejays (6-2, 4-0 ITCL2). Carney’s hits included a double and she drove in three runs. Griffiths had two RBIs while winning pitcher Paije Kiraly (6-2) tossed a two-hitter, struck out seven and walked none. The Rockets are 1-6, 1-4.

South Range 12, Springfield 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN

The Raiders (9-1, 4-0 ITCL Tier One) got three hits from Morgan Renforth and two apiece from Tab Stanton and Kristen Robinson. Madison Yanek struck out five and walked two, pitching a three-hit shutout. Devon Sowers had two hits for Springfield (2-3, 2-2).

Emily Magill’s three hits included a double for the Blue Devils (5-1, 5-0 ITCL Tier Two). Leigh Gatta and Jessica Montella also had three hits while Ashley Seybert and Alyssa Hutzler also doubled.

Sophomore April Lude had a one-hitter and senior Cassie Burchett had six RBIs based on a grand slam, a two-run homer and a double for Western Reserve (6-3, 4-0 ITCL). Junior Chelsey Palumbo added two hits and seniors Chelsea Bogden and Maggie Stubbs had a double apiece for the winners, who have 42 league wins in a row. Southern is 1-5, 1-5.

JEFFERSON

Lindsey Moon tripled and drove in a run and Danielle Webber doubled and scored for LaBrae (1-1). Sarah Busch doubled and drove in two runs and Rachel Francis doubled and scored three runs for Jefferson (4-1).

Rachael Affagato pitched a two-hitter and added a pair of singles for the Wildcats in the Akron Racers Invitational. She struck out 11 batters. Sami Basista had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Struthers (4-3).

Basista and Ashley Hefferon hit doubles for Struthers, also at the Racers Invitational.

Winning pitcher Briana Sinn (2-0) tossed a one-hitter and had three hits for the Red Devils (3-0). She struck out 18 batters. Sinn, Melody Taylor and Heather Darocha each doubled. In the second game, Sinn had four hits and relieved winning pitcher Samantha Heberly (1-0). Taylor had three hits while Heberly, Alison Hajnosz and Tori Heberly doubled.
