Salem Historical Society plans anniversary dinner

The 205th anniversary of the founding of Salem will be celebrated April 26 during the 41st Founders’ Day Dinner to be hosted by Salem Historical Society at Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. The cost is $20.
Patrons will have an opportunity to view basket auction items when the doors open at 5 p.m. The catered dinner will begin at 6 and will be followed by the auction and by a program at 7:15.
The evening’s activities will include the recognition of Mary Dunlap Patterson and Holland Cameron, the museum’s 2011 “Citizens of Honor.”
Cathy Nelson, a representative of the Speakers Bureau of the Ohio Humanities Council in Columbus, will speak on “Remember the Ladies: The Fight for Women’s Equality.”
Judi Allio is chairwoman of the Founders’ Day event, and Kevin Schafer is in charge of the auction.
Reservations for the dinner are required by April 22 and can be made by calling the museum at 330-337-8514 and leaving a message.
