First lady Michelle Obama will visit Ohio as part of a new campaign aimed at increasing public support for U.S. service members and their families.
The White House says she and the vice president’s wife, Jill Biden, will stop in Columbus on Thursday at an employment event and at a concert-style event hosted by the women, the USO and Sesame Street to honor National Guard members and their families.
The campaign being kicked off Tuesday at the White House will focus on employment, education, wellness and public awareness. The women will spend the following two days visiting sites in Ohio, North Carolina, Texas and Colorado to promote the initiative.
Both women are advocates for military families. The Bidens’ son Beau served in Iraq with an Army National Guard unit.
