YOUNGSTOWN
Police are contemplating filing charges against the driver in an accident over the weekend that knocked out power to hundreds of East Side homes.
Patricia Garcar, police traffic investigator, said Michael Crytzer, 36, of Youngstown was traveling down Albert Street at 5 p.m. Sunday when he struck a utility pole. The pole was knocked from its base and eliminated power to several East Side residents. Garcar said police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident, and police are waiting for results from a blood-alcohol test.
Crytzer was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. His 12-year-old son, however, remains hospitalized, police said. There is no word on his condition.

BOARDMAN
Township police are looking for several people in connection with an assault near a local movie theater.
An 18-year-old Youngstown man told police he was walking toward U.S. Route 224 in a neighborhood near Movies 8 about 3:45 a.m. Sunday when three or four men approached and began punching him.
He said one of them broke a glass bottle and tried to stab him with it, according to a police report. The victim said he blocked one attempt with his right hand but was struck under the eye with the bottle.
Police said they observed the victim with those injuries, as well as a large amount of blood on his pants.
The men were described as being between the ages of 18 and 20 and wearing dark-colored hoodies, according to the report.
The victim said he was trying to find a ride home from a party he had attended in the neighborhood, but wouldn’t give them any information on where the party was.
