Police probe mulitple crime from weekend

Police are investigating multiple acts of felonious assault and aggravated robbery over the weekend.
A 24-year-old East Lucius Avenue man told police he was visiting friends at a home in the 3500 block of Firnley Avenue on Friday and attempted to leave at 9:53 p.m. when he was followed outside by an 18-year-old Rush Circle man.
The 24-year-old man told police the teenager pulled out a handgun, pointed it at him and demanded his money. The two began fighting over the gun, which was fired multiple times during the altercation.
The 24-year-old man told police he also was attacked by another man who was with the gunman, but eventually was able to break free and run from the scene. The alleged gunman and his accomplice also ran from the scene of the shooting.
Both men suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with minor injuries. Police collected clothes from both men and conducted a gunshot-residue test on the alleged gunman.
Police also were called to an East Avondale address where a 16-year-old boy told police he had been shot while sitting on the porch with friends just before 9 p.m. Saturday. The boy said he was sitting in a recliner when gunfire erupted and he realized he had been shot in the left arm.
A 39-year-old Parkwood Avenue woman told police her 16-year-old son shot her 36-year-old boyfriend in the face during an argument at 11:26 p.m. Saturday on Parkwood Avenue. The victim, suspect and mother all share the same Parkwood Avenue address.
Reports say officers found the woman intoxicated and clutching the victim’s head, saying her son had shot him. The woman told police the two had been arguing and her son pushed her out of the way and shot the man in the face. Reports say he had a severe wound to the left side of his face and mouth.
The teen fled the scene before police arrived.
Police also are investigating two weekend aggravated robberies.
Officers arrested a 21- year-old Philadelphia Avenue man and a 17-year-old West Boston Avenue teen following the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man Friday. Official charges against the suspects had not been filed Monday.
According to reports, the 26-year-old driver was making a delivery to an East Lucius address at 11:40 p.m. when he was met at the porch by a man asking if he could change a $100 bill to complete the transaction.
The driver told the man he could not make that much change and began to leave, but another man came from the side of the house pulled out a handgun and ordered the driver to the ground.
The armed thief took the driver’s wallet, cash and cellphone. Both men then fled in the driver’s car.
Police spotted the car later. Both suspects got out of the car and ran through backyards. They were caught and arrested after a short chase.
Police are also investigating a robbery late Sunday night.
According to police, a 51-year-old Plaza View Court man was walking to a corner store on Thornton Avenue on the North Side at 11:47 p.m. when he was stopped by two men wearing all black, one carrying a gun. The man said the thief placed the gun to his head and demanded all his money.
The man said he handed over $350 before the two men ran off and jumped into a Chevrolet Blazer and fled.
