Winning pitcher Sean Mancino struck out eight in scattering five hits for the Falcons (1-2) in the first game. Jake Eynon’s two hits included a double and drove in two runs. For the Clippers (5-2), Kyle Shaffer’s two hits included a double. Josh Saverko also had two hits. In the Clippers’ win, Shaffer’s four hits included three doubles and he scored four times. Matt Douglas had four hits including two doubles that drove in three runs. Burdick’s three hits knocked home three runners while Hayden Sneltzer and Jeff Davidson each hit two-run homers. For the Falcons, Zack Miller had three hits and scored two runs while Dan Spiker doubled.

Cardinal Mooney 6-8, Akron Firestone 0-6

STRUTHERS

Dan Reese tossed a two-hit shutout and Boo Vazquez doubled home the winning run in the opener. He had three hits and three RBIs while Reese had two hits. In the second game, Vazquez hit two triples to drive home three runs for the Cardinals (4-0). Drrew Delsignore doubled, Frank Rondinelli had three hits and Branden Sklenar’s two hits included a triple. For Firestone, Phil McIntyre had four hits and two RBIs.

NILES

Trevor Ross and Rick Yauger each had two hits for the Golden Flashes in the eight-inning win in the first game. Greg Culp relieved Kris Karr to earn the win. For the Red Dragons, Nick Chamas had two hits. In the second game, Mike Watson had four hits and Nick Charnas three for the Red Dragons.

Field 6-4, West Branch 3-3

BELOIT

In the first game, Matt Unkefer hit two doubles for the Warriors. Pat Boggs homered for Field. In the second contest, Zach Wells tripled for West Branch (2-6).

Beaver Local 5-3, Crestview 4-7

LISBON

T. Savina and K. Sevey doubled for the Beavers in the first game. Zack Moore and Brandon Brooks doubled for the Rebels (3-3). Brian Orr’s two hits drove in two runs. In the Rebels’ win, Matt May and Andrew Batchelor each had two hits while Evan Nentwick drove in two runs.

Fitch 10-9, Warren Harding 0-2

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP

Winning pitcher Amanda Callahan struck out 10 batters, homered and doubled to drive in two runs in the opener at Candlelite Knolls. Carly Ortz hit two homers while Megan Carney’s two hits included a double. Alana Callahan also had two hits. In the second game, Callahan struck out 11 batters, Ortz’s three hits included a homer and Cali Mikovich had three hits for the Falcons (3-0). Brianna Banko had two doubles while Mackinzee Barnes’ two hits drove in three runs.

Struthers 13, Springfield 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Sami Basista’s three hits included a triple and double. She scored four runs and drove in three for the Wildcats (3-2). Katie Jordan’s two hits included a double and she drove in two runs. Ashley Heffron and Jess Ditman also had two RBIs.
