AARP Austintown Chapter 4339 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1612 S. Raccoon Road. Blood pressure screenings will be available at 12:30. The speaker will be Mona Pocatko from the public library. Refreshments will be served. Tickets for the May luncheon are available. No tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the luncheon. Members are encouraged to take a canned fruit cocktail donation for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Guests and new members are welcome.
Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Center, 16 N. State St. This is the final meeting at the center. The location of future meetings will be announced. April birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated. Lunch will be served; the cost is $4. For reservations call 330-545-9629. Bingo will be played. Members are asked to take Easter candy for the Emmanuel Center.
A moleben service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, just before the Golden Pillars meeting at noon in St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Mary Novak will preside. Birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and cards and bingo will follow. Members are asked to take their own place settings for the luncheon.
Happy Wanderers will have a social gathering at 11 a.m. April 15 prior to the noon meeting and sack lunch. Members with last names beginning with the initials A-L are asked to take sweet breads. A representative of Sharon Regional Hospital Speakers Bureau will present a program on “Healthy Heart.” The hospitality committee will be JoAnn Lukach, Ida Leonelli, Mimi Thon and Jean Turose. Greeters will be Marilyn Spellman, Flo and Gene Shilling and Mary Humenny. Reservations are due by Friday for the Hopper’s concert at Hartville Kitchen on May 26. There will be tours to Chautauqua for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on June 25, for Planes, Trains and Eagles on July 19 and for Bill Cosby on Aug. 27. Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will not meet at 10 a.m. April 19. The meeting has been changed to 10 a.m. April 26. On the agenda: to complete plans for two one-day trips, lunch and a show. Shopping trips also are being planned. This meeting is important. Please plan to attend.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Douglas Martin will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided.
