Whetstine receives kudos at Walsh

Canfield resident Dr. Leslie Whetstine was named “Outstanding Educator of the Year” at Walsh University for 2011.

Whetstine joined the Walsh staff in 2007. She is a bioethicist and assistant professor of philosophy.

Whetstine has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s and doctorate in bioethics from Duquesne University.

She is working on an article to appear in a book along with international critical-care providers on the topic of health-care reform by Springer Publishing and is speaker on ethical issues in transplantation, the definition of death and end-of-life care.

Whetstine and her husband, William Mausteller, live in Canfield and are awaiting the arrival of their first child this month.
