Quota International offers scholarship

Quota International of Salem Inc.’s annual Mona McArtor Quota Award, established in 1978 as an ongoing memorial to McArtor, a deceased member and past president of the local club, is being offered this year at $500.

A qualifying applicant is required to be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited college or university to major in audiology, speech pathology or deaf education.

The applicant must live in and be graduating or graduated high school from Salem, Lisbon, South Range, United Local, Sebring, Leetonia or Columbiana high schools. The applicant may also be enrolled at Youngstown State or Kent State University or the University of Akron.

Application forms and supporting material are available from guidance counselors at those schools and from the universities. To obtain the forms, call Sandra Hollenshead, awards committee chairwoman, at 330-427-2542.

The deadline for filing the application, along with two faculty reference letters, is May 2. Applications should be sent to Hollenshead, 38406 Butcher Road, Leetonia, Ohio, 44431. All applicants will be notified of the results by May 20.
