Music students receive gold cups

Amanda Ellis and Nicole Noday, top photo, from left, and Emily and Ethan Vo, bottom photo, from left, all received gold cups last month at the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs at Youngstown State University. Amanda and Nicole are seniors at Canfield High School and students of the DiDomenico Piano Studio. Amanda, daughter of George and Suzanne Ellis, has competed in the National Federation contest for 13 years. Nicole, daughter of David and Margaret Noday, has competed in the contest for 11 years. Ethan and Emily have received unanimous superior ratings for three consecutive years at the competition. They received their gold cups in piano solo, piano theory and piano concerto. Ethan is in fifth grade at Struthers Middle School and Emily is in third grade at Struthers Elementary. They take lessons at the Diane Debiec Studio in Canfield.
