Mooney fundraiser scheduled for May 6

Organizers have been meeting since before Christmas to put plans into action for the eighth annual Cardinal Mooney “Continue the Tradition” auction on May 6 in the school gymnasium.

Proceeds from the auction are used to support the academic program of the school. The event includes more than 500 items in live, silent and Chinese auction format.

Featured items include vacation condos, jewelry, concert tickets, electronic and household items. In addition, tickets are being sold for a raffle featuring a three-night trip to Las Vegas with lodging at The Cosmopolitan.

New to the auction this year is “Baubels and Bubbles,” a drawing which guarantees a one-in-three chance of winning a valuable gemstone and a grand prize of a nearly $4,000 white gold diamond pendant, sponsored by Komara’s Jewelers.

Valet parking, always a popular feature, will be available, George Roman Auctioneers will lead the bidding and Antone’s will provide buffet dining for the spring event.

A catalog featuring nearly 600 items up for bid will be distributed to ticket holders a week prior to the auction.

Individuals interested in making donations of gifts or cash to the auction or volunteering either to work at the evening of the auction or on the gift gathering committee should contact Cardinal Mooney.
