Area schools have scheduled kindergarten registration or screenings:
Canfield schools will conduct registration and screening for kindergarten students who live in the school district from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2:45 p.m. May 5 at Hilltop Elementary School and from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2:45 p.m. May 10 at C.H. Campbell. Parents should register at the school their child will be attending. Registration packets will be available the week before registration. The child must live in the school district and be age 5 by Sept. 30. The child’s original birth certificate, original Social Security card, proof of residency, divorce decree or proof of custody, if applicable, and the child’s immunization record must be presented at the time of registration.
Brookfield Elementary School will have a make-up kindergarten registration from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m., from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the school. Parents must bring the child’s original birth certificate, immunization records, two proofs of residency and custodial agreement, if applicable, to the registration.
Currie Elementary in the Mathews school district is accepting kindergarten registration for the 2011-12 school year. Paperwork may be picked up between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. weekdays at the school office on Ridge Road. The child’s birth certificate, shot records, Social Security card, proof of residency, parent’s driver’s license and any necessary custody papers will be required to register.
Mohawk Elementary School will conduct a screening May 2 and 3 for children who will be 5 years old before Sept. 1. At the time of screening, parents must bring the child’s birth certificate, proof of residence and immunization record.
