Center, Glenwood bands combine for concert

The Boardman Middle schools will present an eighth-grade band spring concert featuring the combined Center and Glenwood jazz ensemble Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center.

This concert will showcase the combined efforts of Boardman Center and Glenwood Middle School band programs.

The concert will open with the jazz ensemble. Many students are featured on improvisation solos in various musical styles from Center and Glenwood Middle School.

The Jazz Ensemble will feature saxophone soloist and BGMS language arts teacher Timothy Harker.

The concert concludes with the eighth-grade band. The eighth-grade band opens with “Light of Dawn” and “Electricity” to showcase the band’s hard work and improvement since the start of the school year.

The cost is $3 for adults, $2 for students and admission is free for senior citizens and children under 10.
