‘X-Factor’ audition contest at Covelli

YOUNGSTOWN

FOX Youngstown will hold an Audition Pass contest for “X-Factor,” the new Simon Cowell talent competition show, at noon Wednesday at the Covelli Centre. Admission is free. Doors open at 11 a.m. Solo singers and vocal groups who have not already registered will get the chance to audition if their name is drawn. The winner will receive a guaranteed pass to audition before “X Factor” producers in Chicago April 27, with hotel accommodations. For more information, go to foxyoungstown.com.

Mona Lisa mosaic in final exhibition

The “Mona Lisa Mosaic Masterpiece,” a mosaic mural of 70 canvases made by local artists, is on display for the last time at the Nissen Gallery in Trumbull Memorial Hospital until April 27. The 14-foot by 20-foot artwork was unveiled in 2009 at Eastwood Mall in Niles, and has been displayed at a mall in St. Clairsville and the Halle Building in Cleveland. Because a permanent place for it has not been secured, all of the individual paintings will be offered at auction after the current exhibit ends. For info, go to communityartworks.com.
