Skating club members entered in competition


YOUNGSTOWN

For the first time, the Skating Club of Greater Youngstown has three teams entered in competition for the Synchro Championships of the Ice Skating Institute.

Members of the teams have been practicing at the Ice Zone in Boardman and at the Hess Ice Rink in New Castle Pa., for the competition, which will take place this weekend in Bensonville, Ill., in the Chicago area.

The SCGY team, whose members range in age from 7 to 59, will be competing with 137 teams from throughout the United States, the largest number of teams to compete in the ISI event.

The SCGY Electric Edges-Senior Youth Team is one of the teams invited to perform along with Chicago guest skaters in the Synchro Showcase benefit show Saturday night.

The Skating Club of Greater Youngstown teams are as follows:

Electric Edges-Junior Youth Formation Team, comprising John Pfeffer, Maddie Rains, Kaylie Barber, Kylie Barber, Claire Wozniak, Cecilia Wozniak, Cassidy Snow, Morgan Workman, Macy Workman and Brooke Workman.

Electric Edges-Senior Youth Formation Team comprising Michelle Pfeffer, Kacie Santilli, Camille Stoffick, Julie Damon, Ali Metz, Gabbi Kosek, Anna Warvell, Kaylee Banco and Emilie McGill.

Sophisticated Company-Adult Masters Formation Team comprising Jenna McGrath, Kacie Santilli, Teresa Santilli, Linda Burkhart, Cris Rains, Denise Powell, Pam Ripple, Maggie Pfeffer, Vicki Metz, Elizabeth Ozorak, Frank Patton and Greg Ferree.
