CORTLAND
Lakeview’s eight-run fourth inning enabled the Bulldogs to wipe out a 6-0 deficit. Shelby Rog walked with the bases loaded to score a run, Alyssa Nicholas had a two-run single, Alexis Neumeister, Lexi George and Lauren Casassa had successive RBI singles before Caitlin McDivitt tripled. Nicholas and Casassa had two RBIs apiece for the Bulldogs (2-0). Sarah Vrabel and Kayley Keller had two hits apiece and Cara Cupler and Sydney Opladen both had two RBIs for Canfield (0-2).
LaBrae 15, Campbell 0
LEAVITTSBURG
Kelsie Daniel had two hits and three RBIs and Lindsey Moon had two hits for LaBrae (1-0). Courtney Aldridge doubled. Jessica Buck and Kathleen Deiter combined for the one-hit, five-inning shutout, striking out a combined nine.
Poland 10, Jefferson 0
POLAND
Jenna Modic hit two home runs, the first a two-run shot in a seven-run second inning for Poland (2-0). Eight different hitters had RBIs for the Bulldogs and Erin Gabriel struck out eight in three perfect innings for her second victory. Brittany Hurst had a double for Jefferson (4-1).
Howland 13, Liberty 3
HOWLAND
Christina Brindley hit a two-run home run and drove in five while Hayley Marchio threw a complete game and struck out six for Howland (2-0). Marchio also had four singles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Tori McCormick had two hits and three RBIs. Emily Price, Erika Nites and Carmella Ruberto all had two singles. Liberty is 0-2.
Struthers 5, Beaver Local 1
STRUTHERS
Winning pitcher Rachel Affagato doubled and scored a run for the Wildcats (2-2). Sami Basista had three hits and scored two runs while Hannah Dubec doubled.
Fitch 6, Canton GlenOak 2
CANTON
Fitch’s 11-hit attack and Amanda Callahan’s two-hitter with nine strikeouts prevailed.
Megan Carney went 3-for-4 with a triple and two singles. Also for the Falcons (1-0, 1-0 Federal), Carly Ortz and Tori Wise had two singles apiece while Brianna Banko, Cali Mikovich, Alana Callahan and Callahan singled. Banko had two RBIs, while Wise and Mikovich knocked in a run apiece.

MASSILLON
Alex DiDomenico (1-0) struck out 11 in tossing a one-hitter in the Spartans’ season opener. Brooke Meenachan had four hits and two RBIs in the five-inning game. Also for Boardman (1-0, 1-0 Federal League), Julie Sokol and Danielle Petrus also collected RBIs while Kayleigh Huck tripled.
South Range 6, United 3
HANOVERTON
Tab Stanton homered for South Range (7-0, 4-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One) and Taylor Smith doubled for United (0-4, 0-3). Stanton and Kristin Robinson had two RBIs.
Lisbon 2, Springfield 1
LISBON
Lauren Ketchum (4-0) tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and Madison Gruner had a hit and an RBI for the winners (4-0). Elyssa Burkey threw five strikeouts during a four-hitter and Katie Snoddy had two hits for Springfield (2-1).
Mineral Ridge 6, Crestview 3
COLUMBIANA
An 11-strikeout, five-hitter was thrown by Meghan Garland, a junior who had a home run and double for Mineral Ridge (1-2).
Also for the Rams, Allissa Sparks had three hits, Emily Reese had two hits and Reese, Sparks and Elyssa Simko all doubled. Jen Hogue had three singles for Crestview.
Western Reserve 7, Leetonia 1
BERLIN CENTER
Maggie Stubbs had two triples and an RBI and scored twice during an 11-hit attack for the Blue Devils (5-1, 3-0 ITCL2), who posted their 41st straight league win. Chelsey Palumbo and Hannah Mowery also had two hits. One of Palumbo’s hits was a double. Ashley Mesmer and Staci Medved had two hits apiece for Leetonia.
Jackson-Milton 6, Sebring 3
NORTH JACKSON
Caitlyn Carney and Maddie Griffith hit back-to-back doubles in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie and propelled Jackson Milton (4-1, 3-0 ITCL2) . Paige Kiraly threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout and struck out 17. Zaina Sahli also had a double and Shannon Ricketson had two hits for the Bluejays. Taylor Ward had two hits and Elaina Jurica had one hit for Sebring (2-4, 2-1).
