CANFIELD
Walk MS Mahoning Valley, sponsored by Giant Eagle and EMD Serono/Pfizer, is April 30 at the Canfield Fairgrounds, 7265 Columbiana-Canfield Road. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
Walk MS involves individuals and teams raising funds for and awareness about multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease of the central nervous system that affects more than 20,000 Ohioans. Funds from the event support local MS programs and 22 research projects being conducted in Ohio.

Seminar for women
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa.
The Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon is offering “Essentials to Midlife Wellness,” a seminar addressing women’s physical and emotional well-being in middle age. The event, which also has vendor displays, is April 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel Sharon in West Middlesex.
Sessions and presenters are: “A Lifetime of Youthful Skin,” Dr. Lynn Williams; “Healthy Lifestyle,” Dr. Michelle Thompson; “Daily PMS … Please Make it Stop!,” Dr. Deborah Snyder; “Managing Hot Flashes,” Dr. Noedahn Copley-Woods; and “Are You a Hero?,” Lizette Olsen.
Between sessions and during lunch, participants can browse displays from Silpada Jewelry, Nature’s Palette Creative Artistry, the Happy Eggplant, Cottage Gardens, Miche purses, Shaklee and the American Cancer Society. Wellness program

“300 Sisters in Red,” a health and wellness program for African- American women, is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center.
Health screenings include blood pressure, body fat, bone density, a computerized heart health assessment, stroke risk assessment, colon cancer screening, cholesterol (12-hour fast required) and blood sugar (12-hour fast required). Appointments are required for cholesterol and blood sugar screenings.

Free training session

The Mahoning and Trumbull County Suicide Prevention Coalitions are offering a free training session for area clergy to raise awareness about suicide. The event, which will include a panel discussion, individual presentations and a question and answer session, is April 26 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Help Hotline Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave.
