Mahoning Co. auditor's office gets top award

YOUNGSTOWN — For the fourth consecutive year, the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office has received the certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from a major professional association.

The county received the award for its comprehensive annual financial report from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The certificate is the association’s highest form of recognition for government accounting and financial reporting.

With offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., the association serves about 17,500 government finance professionals.
