Ohio State Highway Patrol makes 21 percent more felony arrests
COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers made 21 percent more felony arrests last year than they did the year before.
The patrol said today that the increase came as the agency stepped up its efforts against criminals.
Troopers made more than 2,700 arrests for felonies in 2010, up from around 2,200 in 2009.
The county with the most Highway Patrol arrests for serious crimes was Franklin, which includes Columbus. Next were Scioto and Ross counties in southern Ohio, followed by central Ohio’s Licking County and Lorain County, west of Cleveland.
