POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Austintown and the city of Canfield:

AUSTINTOWN

March 28

Warrant: Police arrested Thomas McGuire, 40, of 5565 Madrid Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Menacing: Threats being made by phone were reported at an apartment in the 2000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

March 29

Possible forgery: A resident of the 4000 block of Westchester Drive reported his ex-wife cashed his Social Security checks.

Warrant: Steve Delvo Jr., 22, of 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant charging menacing.

Theft: Jewelry was stolen from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 1000 block of Idaho Road.

Theft: Sean Buckner, 25, of 494 Westgate Blvd. was arrested and charged with theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Medication was taken from an auto at Dollar General, 1739 S. Raccoon Road.

March 30

Criminal damaging: The front door to the chapel at the 911 Memorial Park, 1055 S. Raccoon Road was damaged.

Theft: A pair of shoes was stolen at Frank Ohl Middle School, 255 Idaho Road.

Warrant: John Wymer, 37, of 866 Palmer Drive, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving under suspension charge.

March 31

Drug offense: Matthew Slate, 25 of 69 Forest Glen, Boardman, was arrested for possession of marijuana at state Route 46 and Silica Road.

Theft: $55.97 in gasoline was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: A UPS package was stolen at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

April 1

Criminal damaging: Nails were placed on a driveway at a home in the 4000 block of Woodridge Drive.

Theft: Two dealer plates were stolen from vehicles at an undetermined location.

Aggravated menacing: A male is a suspect in aggravated menacing at a home in the 300 block of S. Edgehill Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman is accused of telecommunications harassment at a home in the 300 block of Westchester Drive.

April 2

Telecommunications harassment: A female reported being harassed by a male at a home in the 2000 block of Amberly Avenue.

Burglary: The front door was kicked in an two flat-panel televisions and an Apple laptop were taken at a home in the 5000 block of Yorktown Lane.

April 3

Warrant: Michael Yount, 28, of 260 Tremble Ave., Campbell, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Warrant: Timothy Vinion, 34, of 245 N. Yorkshire Blvd. was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Fraud: $430 was withdrawn from an ATM at a home in the 2000 block of Penny Lane.

CANFIELD

March 29

Harassment: A woman from the 70 block of Lakhani Lane reported that sometime tried to break into her house and that she is receiving threatening emails on her Twitter account.

Warrant: Dwayne Bunch, 39, of 1704 Brentwood Drive, Greenville, Pa., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

Identity theft: A woman from the 100 block of Topaz Circle said her father has been staying with her from Pennsylvania. He went to get his taxes done at H&R Block and was told someone else had filed taxes using his Social Security number.

March 31

Stolen checks: A Girard woman, an employee of McQuaid’s gas station, 407 W. Main St., reported five personal checks had been stolen from her vehicle at work and they had been forged and cashed.

April 1

Drug abuse/paraphernalia: Dominic Morgan, 19, of 4619 Viall Road, Austintown, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at Railroad and Lisbon Streets.

April 2

Drug abuse: Nicole Stuckey, 28, of 1598 2nd St., Youngstown was arrested on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana on N. Broad Street.
