The Mahoning County One-Stop invites those interested in careers as home-health aides to attend a recruiting event for Comfort Keepers from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the One-Stop office, 141 Boardman- Canfield Road.

Comfort Keepers has part-time shifts available at its Youngstown, Warren, East Palestine, East Liverpool, Salem, Damascus and East Rochester locations.

Based in Dayton, Comfort Keepers provides nonmedical, in-home care. It operates more than 550 offices worldwide.

Business expo

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa.

The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Expo is from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Radisson Hotel-Sharon, 3377 New Castle Road.

The expo will include representatives from businesses such as Sharon Regional Health Systems, Shenango Steel Buildings Inc., PA CareerLink, Minuteman Press, State Farm Insurance and Walter’s Office Products, among others.

Attendees who bring two canned goods will receive admission for $1. For everyone else, admission costs $2.

The canned goods will be donated to the Prince of Peace Center, a Farrell, Pa.-based affiliate of the Erie Diocese Catholic Charities and United Way of Mercer County. It provides assistance to needy families and individuals.

YSU symposium

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business will host this year’s Williamson Symposium at noon Thursday.

The symposium, titled “A Window into Wall Street,” will feature Youngstown native Derek Penn, managing director for Pershing LLC, as guest speaker.

Pershing is the securities trading and clearing affiliate of BNY Mellon Co., a Wall Street investment firm.

The event is free, but registration is required by Wednesday.

License status

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown-based insurance salesman Mark Ziemianski will be eligible to have his suspended insurance license reinstated six months earlier than anticipated.

Ziemianski was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years’ probation after being convicted of felonious assault early last year. His probation has ended one year early. As a result, his insurance license, which had been suspended for one year, will be eligible for reinstatement six months from March 16, according to a press release from the Ohio Department of Insurance.

Oil at 30-month high

NEW YORK

The price of oil jumped to a fresh 30-month high, above $108 a barrel Monday as fighting in Libya and unrest in the Middle East continued to raise doubts about future supplies.

Benchmark crude for May delivery gained 53 cents to settle at $108.47 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. At one point the contract rose as high as $108.78 per barrel, the highest price since September 2008.
