Cardinal Mooney plans auction to support academic program

YOUNGSTOWN

The eighth annual Cardinal Mooney “Continue the Tradition” auction will take place May 6 in the school gymnasium, 2545 Erie St. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the academic program at the school.

Planning for the event began in December and has resulted in the accumulation of more than 500 items to be offered for bidding in live, silent and basket auction formats.

Featured items will include vacation condos, jewelry, concert tickets, electronic and household items. Tickets will be sold for a raffle featuring a 3-night trip to Las Vegas with lodging at The Cosmopolitan.

There also will be a “Baubles and Bubbles” drawing for a chance to win a valuable gemstone and a grand prize of a white gold diamond pendant from Komara’s Jewelers valued at nearly $4,000.

George Roman Auctioneers will lead the bidding and Antone’s will provide the buffet meal.

A catalog featuring the items available for bidding will be distributed to ticket holders a week prior to the auction. Valet parking will be available.

Tickets for the evening are $60 per person.

Those needing more information or interested in donating gifts or cash for the auction or in volunteering to work the evening of the auction or on the gift-gathering committee should contact the school at 330-788-5007.
