Boo Vazquez (1-0-) relieved starter Dan Reese to earn the win in Mooney’s opener on Saturday. Pat Markovich knocked in the winning run in the nine-inning game at Cene Park. For the Tigers, Brad Ferraro doubled and Nick Russell had two hits.
Western Reserve 5, East Palestine 2
BERLIN CENTER
John Gora had seven strikeouts over five innings for Western Reserve. Gora and Cory Zimmerman had two hits apiece, Tommy Marlowe accounted for two RBIs and Parker Warren and Thomas Benyo had a hit apiece for the winners. Adam Robb had seven strikeouts over four innings for East Palestine, whose top hitter, Jake Koehler, had two hits and two RBIs.

Brandon Brooks had two hits including a double and Anthony Marnejon doubled for Crestview (1-2). For Heartland, C. Bancroft and O. Stryffler doubled.

Junior Katrina Larson tripled, singled and drove in two runs to lead Mooney (2-0). Senior Jamie Clausen and junior Simone Zeoli added triples. Sophomore Angela Penza pitched a complete game. Harding is 1-2.

GREEN TOWNSHIP
Winning pitcher Madison Yanek (2-0) homered and doubled to drive in four runs for the Raiders (3-0). She struck out four and walked one. Darien Yanek doubled. For the Cardinals (2-1), Katelyn Kowalczyk had two hits.
