Friend: Men who fell from bus ‘goofing around’

BOSTON (AP) — A woman who was on a bus returning to Massachusetts from a New Hampshire brew pub tour says the two men who fell out of the bus’s bathroom window had been “goofing around.” One was killed and the other was injured.

Sherry Clement said today she and more than 50 others on the bus were initially in disbelief at Saturday night’s accident as they returned from the pub tour.

Her friend, 31-year-old Thomas Johnson of Gardner, died in the fall. Thirty-four-year-old Seth Davis of Winchendon was hospitalized, where he remains in fair condition.

Authorities are investigating whether Johnson and Davis were involved in a fight.

State police and the Worcester district attorney’s office had no immediate update on the investigation Monday.
