Miriam Chapter 278 OES conducts 103rd annual inspection of officers

Miriam Chapter 278, Order of Eastern Star, conducted its 103rd annual inspection of officers March 22 at the Masonic Temple on Wick Ave. Inspecting officer was Kathy Tinker, deputy grand matron of District 2 of the Grand Chapter of Ohio.
The theme was “The Gang’s All Here Charlie Brown,” a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the “Peanuts” comic strip last year, and the 65 Eastern Star members and visitors in attendance received circus peanuts.
Officers for 2011 are Merry Beth Vargo, worthy matron; Alan Burton, worthy patron; Rose Marie Roth, associate matron; Robert Ellway, associate patron; Laurie Hernandez, conductress; Judy Elliott, associate conductress; Susan Gillam, secretary; Elberta Scott, treasurer; Shirley Jacobs, chaplain; Marion Brownlee, organist; Linda Woolford, Ada; Christine Lucarell, Ruth; Blanche Costanza, Esther; Jean Layne, Martha; Wilma Payne, Electa; Jean Olzak, warder; and Jean McClure, sentinel.
Serving as pages are Alice Wilds, Louise Waddell and Geraldine Thompson, and prompters are Carol and Allen Bohr.
Protems Winifred Hill, Deborah Wagner and Russell W. Gillam Jr. helped with the evening, and Martha Sulik and June Hill prepared lunch.
