On April 23, the park will have its free “Easter Egg and Goodie Bag Hunt.” The hunt begins at 10 a.m. for children ages 3 and 4; 10:15 for ages 2 and under; and 10:30 for ages 5 to 8.

Roundtable set

GIRARD

A community roundtable will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., to discuss the impact and effects Ohio’s proposed budget will have on seniors, retirees, human services and the disabled. There also will be an update about Social Security benefits.

The event is free, and a light lunch will be available for attendees. Area legislators have been invited.

This program is made possible by a joint effort of Fair Care Ohio, AFL-CIO, Alliance for Senior Action, Ohio Campaign for Better Care, Ohio Alliance for Retired Americans, AFL-CIO, Trumbull-Mahoning chapters, and the Area Agency on Aging 11.

The proposed budget calls for cuts to home services for seniors on the Medicaid waiver programs such as PASSPORT and Assisted Living. Gov. John Kasich’s budget proposes an 8 percent cut to every service plan per person for this year and an additional 15 percent cut to care plans next year, according to an Area on Aging press release.
