Submit info for Holy Week, Easter
The Vindicator will run a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Palm Sunday (April 16); Holy Thursday, (April 21); Good Friday (April 22); Holy Saturday (April 23); and Easter (April 24).
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. April 13. Publication will be April 16. Information should include the denomination and name of the church, complete address with city or suburb, the date/day and time, the type of service, and the name and telephone number of a contact person for verification.

Conference set
Columbus
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry of the Diocese of Columbus will host the 2011 Ohio Catholic Young Adult Conference, “Rooted in Christ,” April 9 at St. Thomas More Newman Center, 64 West Lane Ave., in cooperation with all dioceses in Ohio.
The conference is for young adults in Ohio. Anyone 18 years of age and out of high school up to 39 years of age may attend.
Keynote speaker is the Rev. Brett Hoover, co-founder and editor of the Catholic website for young adults, BustedHalo.com. Other presenters include the Rev. Joshua Wagner, pastor of Holy Rosary/St. John Parish, and the Rev. Vinny McKiernan and Rebecca Bass, associate director and pastoral staff, respectively, of the Newman Center.
Registration is $30, which includes lunch, all speakers, workshops and other activities. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a closing Mass at 5:30 p.m.

Villa Maria Spirituality and Education Center will continue its ongoing series of morning seminars from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. “Paul Speaks to the Romans and to Us” is the topic to be explored in this month’s Coffee & Contemplation program presented by Sister Ardath Blake.

The Youngstown-Warren Chapter of the Society of St. John Chrysostom will present “The Amazing Life and Death for both America and Russia of Patriarch Tikhon [Belavin]” at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 305 Struthers-Liberty Road.
Speaker will be Protopresbyter Thomas J. Hopko, theologian and dean emeritus of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.

Pastor Joe Weser will speak at Covenant Life Fellowship Church, 5900 W. Liberty St., at 10:30 a.m. April 10. Pastor Weser is working toward becoming a nationally appointed U.S. missionary with the Assemblies of God and recently received the appointment as director of the Chi Alpha ministry at Youngstown State University.

The Rev. Joe Cameneti, senior pastor at Believers Christian Fellowship in Warren, will speak at the Men’s Rally in the Valley prayer meeting at 6:45 p.m. Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave.
The Rev. Cameneti has served Believers since the establishment of the church in 1983 and is host of “Pastor Joe,” a weekly television show broadcast on WFMJ-TV 21, the Catholic Television Network of Youngstown and online at pastorjoe.com.

The spring revival weekend at Calvary Bible Church, 2878 Warren-Meadville Road, will begin at 6:30 tonight with a concert by The Copenhavers, a trio that has recorded three albums. Services will be at 9:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Norm Pratt from Lynchburg, Va., and Dr. Dan DeHass from Wooster as speakers. Nursery service is provided; a free-will offering will be accepted.

The 2011 Christian Women’s Outreach Retreat will be April 15-16 at McKeever Environmental Learning Center, state Route 358, Sandy Lake, Pa.

Mahoning and Trumbull County suicide-prevention coalitions are offering a free breakfast workshop for area clergy to raise awareness about suicide prevention. Training will be from 7:30 to 10 a.m. April 26 at the Help Hotline Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., and will include a panel discussion, individual presentations and a question-and-answer session.
The workshop is paid for by a grant from the Area Agency on Aging 11 Inc.
