Bar foundation takes scholarship applications

The Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships to attend law school.

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Mahoning County Bar Association and has awarded scholarships to law students for about 22 years.

The foundation will award several scholarships. In addition to general scholarships awarded by the foundation, there are scholarships in memory of Atty. Irwin I. Kretzer, Atty. Harlan Small and Atty. Robert J. Boyd.

Scholarship applications are available by calling the bar association at 330-746-2933 or by e-mail at mcarroll@mahoningbar.org.

They’re also available by contacting Paul A. Sracic, political science department, Youngstown State University, at 330-941-3436.

Applications must be received by the bar foundation by May 22 to be considered.

The recipients will be recognized at the annual election banquet, scheduled for June 27.
