7 to be arraigned in beating of officer
YOUNGSTOWN
Seven women accused of beating a city policewoman await arraignment in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
A county grand jury this week indicted Brittany Littlejohn, 21, and her sister, Briyanna Littlejohn, 20, both of Eastway Drive; Jamalia Abrams, 20, and Jenicia Abrams, 18, both of Parkwood Avenue; Britany West and Alicia Davis, both 20, both of Winona Drive; and Ronisha Harris, 21, of Columbus Street, Struthers.
They all are charged with a felony charge of aggravated riot after a March 10 fight involving the policewoman on East Boston Avenue on the city’s South Side.
The Littlejohns and the Abrams also were indicted on a felony count of assault on Officer Bridget Quinn.
Brittany Littlejohn also was indicted on two misdemeanor counts of child endangering involving a 20-month-old child and a 4-year-old child, also on March 10.
In a municipal-court preliminary hearing, Quinn testified she was called to the scene of a fight, where she found about eight women standing outside of two cars, engaged in a verbal altercation.
The officer said she tried to separate the women, but Briyanna Littlejohn tried to attack one of the other women.
Quinn said she tried to arrest Briyanna Littlejohn, but she jumped into the back seat of one of the cars, wrestled with her and resisted arrest.
The officer said multiple other women began to fight with her as she tried to pull Briyanna Littlejohn out of the car and arrest her.
Defense lawyers got Quinn to admit that she couldn’t individually identify each woman who may have attacked her, but Quinn said they all were present when the incident happened.
