The Frank Ohl Intermediate School stage was full of star power – and you didn’t have to go far to find the group of top talent.

The school hosted its third annual PTA Talent Show March 18 and Lori Riley, PTA chair of the event, said the event has been successful because of the excitement of the students and the support of the school.

“This event began when the students asked for it three years ago, and their passion for it has made it the success it is today. This year, we had 110 students try out, but even those who didn’t make the show this year are here to support,” Riley said.

The event featured the talents of dancers, singers, and musicians, but also showed students who performed selections of karate, stunt cheerleading, Irish step dancing, and magic tricks.

Students Celena Cancio and Skylar Weiser sang together in the show, and appreciated the friendships the talent show helped create.

“We had a lot of fun and spent a lot of time with our friends,” Weiser said.

“We had so many rehearsals that we made lots of new friends, too,” Cancio added.

During the show, Frank Ohl students showed up for the event and cheered and clapped along with the performers.

Once the performers were finished with their selections, they sat near the stage and supported the others, many knowing each other’s dance moves and songs.

Riley liked that the event brought the school together.

“I see the confidence in the students, how much they’re smiling knowing they’re being supported by our students and staff. We really hope the kids will continue to reach for the stars,” she shared.
