Vice president will visit Youngstown, Struthers Monday

Joe Biden will make his first visit to the Mahoning Valley as vice president Monday, the vice president’s press office confirmed today.

Biden will visit the Golden Dawn Restaurant on Youngstown’s North Side and then travel to Astro Shapes, an aluminum extrusions company in Struthers, for a tour and rally, said Lis Smith, Gov. Ted Strickland’s communications director. Strickland, a fellow Democrat, will be with Biden during his visit to the Valley, Smith said.

Times for the events will be finalized shortly, but the Golden Dawn visit will be around noon with the rally about 2 p.m.

Biden held campaign rallies in Warren and Youngstown, and had breakfast at a Boardman restaurant while campaigning in 2008.
