Police are investigating several robberies and a beating resulting from a robbery.
A 22-year-old North Hartford Avenue woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking from her driveway to her front door Tuesday evening.
The woman told police a man put a gun to the back of her head as she was walking to her house and then took $40 from her pockets. The robber ordered her to count back from 100 before he ran off with the money.
A 32-year-old New York Avenue woman told police she was robbed at knife point while waiting for the city bus Tuesday morning.
The woman said she was standing at LaClede and Glenwood avenues when a man came up to her holding a knife and demanding money. The man grabbed the woman’s wallet and ran off.
Reports say the woman’s bus pass was inside the wallet, and she was forced to walk to the bus station downtown to call police.
A 22-year-old Austintown woman was robbed of her purse by three people she had considered to be friends, according to reports. The woman said the three people had come to her home Tuesday evening to give her a ride to work when the robbery took place.
The woman said two men in the car grabbed her purse and began to go through the bag. The third person in the car, a female, grabbed her hair to prevent her from trying to go after the men.
The woman told police she was punched in the face and left in the area of Ellenwood and Heasley after the three took off with her purse. A witness called police.
A 34-year-old homeless man told police he was beaten with a board containing a nail by a former roommate for stealing a television set and selling it Tuesday. Police say the man admitted stealing the television.
The man was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with hip and arm injuries.
